The historical jewel of Moravia

Discover the magic of Olomouc and its surroundings

Olomouc is a historical jewel of Moravia, offering a unique atmosphere, UNESCO monuments and a rich cultural life. Whether you are here for work or on holiday, you should not miss these places.

Historic centre and UNESCO monuments

The centre of Olomouc is the second largest monument reserve in the Czech Republic after Prague. Everything you need is within easy reach of our hotel.

Holy Trinity Column: The dominant feature of Horní náměstí and a UNESCO listed monument. It is the largest grouping of Baroque statues within a single sculpture in Central Europe.
Olomouc Astronomical Clock: One of the few heliocentric astronomical clocks in the world, set into the northern facade of the town hall. Its current appearance in the style of socialist realism is unique in the world.
St. Wenceslas Cathedral: An impressive neo-Gothic building, whose southern tower, at 100.65 metres high, is the second tallest church tower in the Czech Republic.
Archdiocesan Museum: The only museum of European significance in the Czech Republic, where you can admire a Romanesque palace and thousands of years of history.

Relaxation, parks and nature

When you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, Olomouc offers beautiful green oases.

Smetana Gardens and Collection Greenhouses: Take a walk along the main avenue of one of the most beautiful parks in the country or visit the palm, cactus or tropical greenhouse in the Flora Exhibition Grounds.
Rosarium and Botanical Garden: Thousands of roses and other plants bloom here in season. An ideal place for a peaceful walk.
Boating: Get to know Olomouc from a different perspective while sailing on the Morava River. You can find the pier near the center.

Gastronomy and Olomouc cheese

A visit to Olomouc is not complete without tasting a local specialty.

Olomouc cheese: You can taste this ripened cheese with an unmistakable aroma in many ways in local restaurants. For the brave, we recommend visiting the Tvarůžková confectionery, where you can taste savory desserts.
Local microbreweries: Haná is a hop region, don't forget to taste the locally produced beer (e.g. Moritz, Tvarg or Chomout).

Trips to the surrounding area (within 30 minutes by car)

If you have a car, we recommend going outside the city limits.

Svatý Kopeček and Olomouc Zoo: A pilgrimage site with the beautiful Basilica of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, from which there is a breathtaking view of the whole of Olomouc. In close proximity is a popular zoo, which is home to giraffes, wolves and sea aquariums.
Bouzov Castle: One of the most romantic castles in the Czech Republic, known from many fairy tales (e.g. About Princess Jasněnka and the Flying Shoemaker).
Javoříčské Caves: A complex of caves with rich stalactite decoration, which is one of the most beautiful in the country.
Museum of Olomouc Tvarůžky in Loštice: If you've enjoyed tvarůžky, head straight to the source in the town of Loštice, where it's made.

Do you have a question or need advice on where to go? We'll be happy to provide you with a map of the city at reception, recommend current cultural events, or make a reservation at a restaurant.
